Ridin Skyline and the Blue Ridge 9-29

Cold, rainy, and foggy. That was today. Did Lexington (Burna Vista) to Fancy Gap. May not seem like much, but with the rain, there was serious fog. Bad enough when ya gotta worry about deer, saw 4 today, but when ya can't see cars, ya go slow. Lotta ridin with a blinker on, as were other bikes. But it was a good day over all. Stopped at James River, Peaks of Otter, and Rocky Knob. Oh, and Mabry Mill. Pics are from the phone. I run 81 home. Prob will run the whole BRP in the spring.

Ridin Skyline and the Blue Ridge 9-28

Decided what better way to spend my BDay than goin for a ride. Got on Skyline at Front Royal and rode the whole thing to Waynesboro. Highlight was the black bear in the middle of the road at MP 75. Did see a doe at MP 81 too. Spent the night in Lexington.

little ride...

Just went up to Skyline today..  Wanted to get a few pics of the bike up there.  Was funny on the way, some lady was driving a mercedes and appeared her and her hubby were talking about my bike..  How'd I know, cuz next thing I notice is as I'm at a light, they are rolling up besides me and she's got her cell phone up taking a picture..  I got a good laugh outta that.

Skyline wasn't bad..  Not all that crowded but there were a lot of bikes up there.  I expected it to be a bit chilly, so I had my cheapie Wings sweater with me so I just put that on.  Took a few pics and I'll put some up later.

All in all, did about 200 miles.

Down in Tennessee

Pretty uneventful ride from Detroit to Tennessee. Saw a few VTX's on the way. Did detour off 75 at Jellico onto 25W. Fun road. No rain, so that was nice too. Chilling out today. Back to DC tomorrow. Nother 500+ mile ride.

Started out on a little ride....

Next thing ya know, I've gone 550 miles and am in Detroit..  LOL!   Actually, it was a planned ride..  Wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, specially on the stock seat.  I did get soaked, numerous times..  I quit counting the rain storms after about 6..   Mainly it was Pennsylvania and Ohio.  So glad I brought my rain jacket and a bandana..  both were invaluable.  Maryland and Michigan were clear and sunny for the most part.  Here's the pic I snapped when I got to Michigan..

Tomorrow I'm off to Detroit Bike Week were Ryan Hurst (Opie from SOA will be)..

Detroit Bike Week is next week?!?!?!

So I drove to Detroit for the Home signing this past week..  well, on the way back, I tweeted to Ryan Hurst about a schedule of places he'll be appearing..   wouldn't you know he mentioned Detroit next week!?!?!  CRAP!!!  Well, looked around, and it's Detroit Bike Week..  So guess who is gonna ride his Wings bike to Detroit next Saturday?  Should be a good time..  I may go to Tennessee as well..  We'll see...
